Naast station Friedrichstraße in Berlijn staat het Tränenpalast (Tranenpaleis). Dit relatief kleine gebouw was de plek waar Oost-Berlijners in de Koude Oorlog afscheid namen van familie en vrienden die vanuit de DDR weer naar het Westen vertrokken.
